Lea Michele Gushes About Broadway’s Wicked

Lea Michele shared an emotional post on Instagram as she rewatched Wicked nearly 20 years after seeing it for the first time, now with her son. The actress, who famously starred in Glee, expressed her amazement at her son’s ability to sing along to the iconic song “Defying Gravity,” writing that her heart “literally exploded” with pride. She also shared a picture with the cast members of the show, including Alexandra Socha as Glinda and Mary Kate Morrissey as Elphaba, and thanked them for an extraordinary experience.

Michele also took a moment to reunite with Socha, reflecting on their time together in Spring Awakening. In addition to attending the Broadway musical with her son, Michele made an appearance at the premiere of the Wicked movie, starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.

Michele has previously expressed her wish to play Elphaba in the Wicked movie, though the role ultimately went to Erivo. She humorously shared her readiness to take on the role by joking about being backstage “painting myself green.” The movie is set to release on streaming platforms soon.
