Anna Faris and Rick Edwards are set to host NBC’s upcoming dating show Love Takes a Village. This unique reality series will feature blind dates, but with a twist: while the contestants know they’re being filmed, they won’t realize that live audience members are secretly watching them throughout the date. After the date, the couple will find out whether they’ve earned a second date, as well as who was watching them from behind a glass window.
The show, produced by Lighthearted Entertainment (the same studio behind Eat Slay Love on Peacock and Queens Court), will kick off with its first episode being filmed in the U.K. next week. Edwards, who has previously hosted The Courtship, brings valuable experience to the role. Besides hosting reality shows, he’s known for his acting roles in films like The House Bunny, 22 Jump Street, and The Dictator.
Faris, who has had a successful career in Hollywood, including starring in Scary Movie, returns to the spotlight following a difficult personal event. Her home in Los Angeles was destroyed in the wildfires that ravaged Malibu and Southern California. Faris’ ex-husband, Chris Pratt, provided an update on the devastation, sharing that her property was reduced to ashes. Despite this, Faris is set to take on this new hosting role.
Love Takes a Village promises to be an exciting and fresh addition to NBC’s reality programming, with the release date yet to be announced by the producers.
