Outlander may be approaching its final chapters, but fans won’t have to say goodbye to its world just yet. A prequel series, Blood of My Blood, is already in the works, promising to explore the love stories of Jamie and Claire’s parents.
Set in 18th-century Scotland and World War I-era England, the series will delve into the past, revealing the relationships that shaped the iconic characters of Outlander.
Matthew B. Roberts, co-showrunner of Outlander, is leading the project as writer and executive producer, alongside Maril Davis and Ronald D. Moore, both key figures in the original show’s success. Diana Gabaldon, the author of the Outlander books, is also involved as a consulting producer.
The cast features Harriet Slater as Ellen MacKenzie and Jamie Roy as Brian Fraser—Jamie’s parents. Hermione Corfield and Jeremy Irvine will portray Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp, Claire’s parents. Additionally, Rory Alexander will play a younger Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser, while Sam Retford will step into the role of Dougal MacKenzie.
Filming for Blood of My Blood began in Scotland in early 2024, even overlapping with the final season of Outlander. Fans can expect the same depth, drama, and romance that made the original series a phenomenon.
