During an interview on The Breakfast Club on Monday, February 24, Tacopina revealed that he declined to take on Diddy’s case, which involves serious allegations of sex trafficking and racketeering. His reason? A strong personal and professional connection to Roc Nation and Jay-Z.
Tacopina openly stated that he represents Roc Nation and has close ties to key figures within the company. He specifically praised Jay-Z, Roc Nation President Desiree Perez, and Jay Brown, calling them “amazing” and likening Roc Nation to a family.
Another major revelation from the interview was Tacopina’s claim that Jay-Z and Diddy are no longer on good terms. While discussing the Bad Boy Records founder, he noted that the two music moguls “don’t see eye to eye” anymore.
Charlamagne Tha God, one of the show’s hosts, asked Tacopina to clarify his statement about the strained relationship. The lawyer responded by pointing out that while past photos show Jay-Z and Diddy together, that doesn’t necessarily mean they were always close.
“Everyone wanted a picture with P. Diddy at one point when they attended his parties,” Tacopina explained. “But when things got real, years and years ago, that was a different story.”
