The Handmaid’s Tale Sequel The Testaments Casts Chase Infiniti

Hulu’s upcoming The Testaments has just announced Chase Infiniti as a co-lead alongside Ann Dowd, who will reprise her iconic role as Aunt Lydia. The sequel series continues to explore the world of Gilead, based on Margaret Atwood’s 2019 novel, which is a follow-up to her 1985 book The Handmaid’s Tale.

Infiniti, known for her role in Presumed Innocent, shared her excitement about joining the series on Instagram, marking a significant moment for her career. Bruce Miller, the creator of The Handmaid’s Tale, is closely involved in the development of The Testaments, along with Atwood, who serves as a consulting producer.

Set 15 years after the events of The Handmaid’s Tale, The Testaments will shift focus to three central women. The story will explore the experiences of a young woman raised in Gilead’s oppressive regime, a Canadian teenager discovering her true origins, and the return of Aunt Lydia, a pivotal character in the original series. This fresh narrative promises to shed new light on the Gilead universe while answering long-awaited questions about the fates of beloved characters from the first novel.

As The Handmaid’s Tale wraps up its final season with June’s (Elisabeth Moss) storyline, The Testaments will complement the original series by offering a new, deeper exploration of the dystopian world that has captivated audiences. Fans can look forward to an expanded view of Gilead and the complex women navigating its harsh realities.

With its launch on the horizon, The Testaments is set to add further layers to the gripping saga of The Handmaid’s Tale.
