Brandon Sklenar recently addressed the ongoing legal battle between his It Ends With Us co-stars, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, during an appearance on CBS Mornings with Gayle King. When asked to pick a side in the dispute, Sklenar diplomatically responded, “I’m Team It Ends With Us.” He emphasized that the focus should remain on the core message of the film, stressing that it was made to shed light on important issues and that people should remember the film’s purpose above all else.
Sklenar had previously expressed his support for Lively, sharing her perspective on social media by posting screenshots of an online headline about the situation. His response to King’s question highlights his desire to keep the attention on the film’s significance rather than the controversy surrounding the actors.
The legal battle started when Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, claiming that he had conducted a smear campaign against her and had sexually harassed her on set. Baldoni later filed a counterclaim, alleging that Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, tried to prevent him from promoting the film.
Sklenar, who plays Atlas in the movie, further explained the personal connection he has to the film, revealing that someone close to him has gone through similar experiences to those depicted in Lively’s character, Lily. He expressed his deep emotional connection to the project, saying that the movie held significant meaning for both him and his loved one. Sklenar concluded that it was unfortunate that the focus was being diverted away from the film’s true message.
It Ends With Us is available to stream on Netflix.
