Javed Sheikh Opens Up About His Experience with Emraan Hashmi

Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh recently shared his unsettling experience of working with Emraan Hashmi on the sets of the 2008 film Jannat. During a Ramadan Transmission on Aaj Entertainment’s YouTube channel, Javed revealed that Emraan’s behavior towards him was notably cold and dismissive.

Javed recalled that he had never met Emraan before the shoot began, despite signing onto the project with Mahesh Bhatt as the producer and Kunal Deshmukh as the director. Their first interaction took place in South Africa, at the Newlands Cricket Stadium, where Javed attempted to shake hands with Emraan. However, he was met with a very indifferent response. “He shook hands dismissively and turned his face away, which really irked me,” Javed shared.

The actor went on to compare Emraan’s behavior with the respectful attitudes he has received from Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Salman Khan. Javed felt that Emraan’s attitude was unnecessary, especially from a newcomer. “What does he think of himself?” Javed wondered. Following this, Javed chose to keep his distance from Emraan throughout the filming process, stating that they didn’t interact at all during the shoot.

Jannat, a crime drama directed by Kunal Deshmukh, was a box office hit and led to two sequels. Emraan was last seen in the Disney+ Hotstar series Showtime and will appear next in Ground Zero.
