According to an officer, the collision between the two vehicles occurred this morning on the Lakhisarai-Jamui state route, close to Manjhuwe village. “Three students died on the spot after the vehicle, in which they were travelling, rammed into a stationary truck, while two others sustained injuries,” DIG (Munger) Rakesh Kumar told PTI.
According to him, the deceased have been transferred for post-mortem exams, while the injured were sent to the closest government hospital. Locals said that the tragedy happened while all five of the students from Lakhisarai’s government-run engineering institution were riding in an autorickshaw to catch a train.
Another officer stated that the autorickshaw driver was able to escape the scene of the accident right away and that the police are attempting to determine the identification of the deceased.
