War 2 box office day 4: Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR starrer crosses ₹150 crore despite surprise dip

To put it mildly, War 2 is having a wild ride at the box office. The film starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR started out slowly on Thursday before picking up steam on Friday thanks to the Independence Day vacation. However, the movie has slowed dramatically since then, exhibiting an unexpected decline for the rest of its prolonged opening weekend.

In its first three days, War 2 brought in ₹142.60 crore net (₹170 crore gross) in India. This included a concerning 42% decline in both the Telugu and Hindi editions on Saturday. On Sunday, the pattern seemed to be continuing. Sacnilk claims that War 2 had made ₹15.56 crore net by 4 p.m. on Sunday. This delay could harm the movie’s longevity.

Nevertheless, the early surge has allowed War 2 to surpass ₹150 crore globally in just four days, even with the slowdown. Thanks to a respectable international run, the movie also made over ₹200 crore on Saturday. The Ayan Mukerji movie still has a long way to go before it breaks even, though, considering that its estimated landing cost is over ₹400 crore.

Despite having less screens around India, Rajinikanth’s Coolie, which debuted in cinemas on the same day as War 2, appears to be winning the box office battle. Coolie will surpass the ₹200 crore milestone considerably more quickly, having already surpassed the ₹170 crore threshold. Furthermore, its overseas collection ($16 million) is far greater than the $5 million collected during War 2.

The YRF Spy Universe, which also comprises Salman Khan’s Tiger series and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, features War 2. Bobby Deol introduces Alpha, the upcoming release in the Spy Universe, in the post-credits sequence of the movie. Alia Bhatt and Sharvari will play the main roles in that movie, which is scheduled for release in December.
