The actor’s management has denied the resurgence of rumors that Govinda and Sunita Ahuja are divorcing, calling it “old news” and insisting that they are not splitting up. According to a news source, Sunita filed for divorce in the Bandra Family Court on December 5, 2024, claiming abandonment, cruelty, and infidelity.
The news that was released six-seven months ago is the same as this one. Six-seven months after Sunita filed for divorce, the matter is currently being resolved. “Everyone will hear the news in about a week,” Shashi Sinha, the manager of Govinda, told PTI. “The whole family is going to celebrate the Ganesh Chaturthi festival together, for which Sunita is busy doing the preparation,” he stated.
Lalit Bindal, Govinda’s attorney, rejected the report as well, referring to it as “old news.” Sunita and Govinda were not available for remark. Since speculations of a divorce arose in February of this year, suspicion has centered on the couple’s 38-year marriage.
The actor’s management brushed off the rumors as inflated, claiming that the couple mainly disagreed on Govinda’s movie projects. At the time, Bindal acknowledged that Sunita had filed for divorce, citing “misunderstandings.” Govinda has refrained from making any comments, referring to the commotion as “business talks.”
At about the same time, Sunita stated in a number of interviews that she would not want to marry him in her next life, implying marital conflict. Tina and Yashvardhan are the couple’s two children, who have been married since 1987.
One of the biggest performers of the 1990s, Govinda, last starred in Rangeela Raja in 2019. Since 2024, she has been involved in politics, having joined Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena.
