Kajol reveals daughter Nysa Devgan has no plans to join Bollywood; shares views on nepotism

Kajol confirmed that her daughter Nysa Devgan is not interested in pursuing acting, while also addressing the scrutiny star kids face due to nepotism in the film industry.

Bollywood actor Kajol has had a power-packed year with films like Do Patti, Maa, and Sarzameen, but the actress is clear that her daughter Nysa Devgan has no plans of stepping into the industry. In a recent interview, Kajol addressed ongoing speculation about Nysa’s Bollywood debut and firmly dismissed it.

Speaking about her 22-year-old daughter, Kajol said, “She’s not stepping into acting. She’s 22 years old and she’s pretty much made up her mind that she’s not going to be joining the industry.” The revelation comes at a time when several star kids, including Ibrahim Ali Khan, Rasha Thadani, Aaman Devgan, Shanaya Kapoor, and Ahaan Panday, have marked their entry into films this year.

Kajol also reflected on the conversation around nepotism and the challenges that star kids often face when entering Bollywood. Sharing her perspective, she explained, “When you enter the film industry, you have to realise that there are pros and cons, and you will be subjected to scrutiny. Some of it is harsh, some of it is ridiculous and horrible, but it is all part of your growth and journey. It is something that everyone has to face. It’s not something you have a choice about.”

While Nysa has decided against pursuing a career in films, Kajol continues to shine on the big screen and is gearing up for her next project, further solidifying her position as one of Bollywood’s most versatile stars.
