Payal Rohatgi’s comment on Alia Bhatt’s privacy post sparks backlash online

After Alia Bhatt called out the invasion of privacy over a viral video of her Pali Hill home, Payal Rohatgi’s shocking reaction has triggered outrage among netizens.

Alia Bhatt recently issued a firm statement on social media after a video of her and Ranbir Kapoor’s ₹250 crore bungalow in Pali Hill went viral. The actor expressed concern over the clip being circulated without her or her family’s consent, calling it a clear violation of privacy and a major security threat. She urged media outlets to take the content down and requested fans not to share or forward it further. While many supported her, others mocked her stance, including former Bigg Boss contestant Payal Rohatgi.

Reposting Alia’s statement, Payal wrote that sharing a home’s location does not qualify as invasion of privacy. In her controversial note, she added, “Your sexual act with your husband or another man comes under invasion of privacy,” and suggested that Alia should use her resources for cameras and security instead of raising such issues publicly.

Her words, however, did not sit well with netizens. Several social media users slammed Payal for being insensitive and for dragging Alia’s personal life into the matter. One comment on Reddit called her remarks “beyond perversion” and even harassment. Another claimed she was simply seeking attention to stay relevant, recalling how she had previously targeted other celebrities during the lockdown.

Despite the trolling, Alia’s message has found strong support from fans who continue to demand that her privacy be respected.
