Scams involving fake casting directors continue to trouble the film industry, and this week, Ektaa Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms took a firm step to address the issue. The production house released a public notice on social media, warning aspiring actors about fraudulent Instagram accounts pretending to be associated with them.
In its statement, Balaji Telefilms clarified that two accounts, allegedly run by individuals named Vishal and Pooja under the handle pooja_castingdirector, were falsely claiming to be assistant casting directors for the company. “They have no affiliation whatsoever with Balaji Telefilms. We unequivocally disassociate ourselves from this individual and strongly condemn any attempt to misuse our company’s name or reputation to take undue advantage of aspiring actors,” the statement read.
The production house further emphasized that all casting for its projects is conducted exclusively through official and verified channels. Urging aspiring talent to remain cautious, they added, “Your dream deserves safety. Don’t fall prey to fake casting calls. Always verify.” Ektaa Kapoor also reshared the important notice on her Instagram story to amplify the warning.
Meanwhile, Ektaa is riding high on the successful return of her iconic daily soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The reboot, which premiered on July 29, features Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay reprising their beloved roles, and has already captured audience attention with strong TRP ratings and Tulsi’s powerful monologues.
