Saiyaara overtakes Jawan to become second highest-grossing Indian film in the UK

Saiyaara has surpassed Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan to become the second-highest grossing Indian film ever in the UK. The YRF musical was only a few hundred pounds short of Jawan’s earnings of GBP 3.103 million as of yesterday’s close of business. Saiyaara has surpassed Jawan on the UK box office charts with today’s AM grosses. With an insurmountable GBP 4.38 million, Pathaan remains at the top.

The fact that Saiyaara retains weekly records for the second, third, and fourth weeks for an Indian film is evidence of its incredible run at the UK box office. The movie nonetheless had the second-highest fifth week ever for an Indian picture, despite fierce opposition from two big releases, Coolie and War 2.

Additionally, the sixth week will be the second-biggest ever, narrowly missing the record. The movie has done remarkably well overseas overall, making USD 19.30 million to date. Its largest territory is the UK, with the UAE coming in second.

The UK used to be the biggest foreign market for Bollywood movies. In the 2010s, it began to lag behind the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and even Australia. The market has recently recovered and most films have done well, but none have done so as well as Saiyaara, which has revived the flavor of a bygone period.
