War 2 box office day 15: Hrithik Roshan-Jr NTR starrer crosses ₹230 crore despite midweek dip

The third week of War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, has suffered a significant decline in box office receipts after a robust start and a stable second weekend. According to Sacnilk, the movie made ₹1.19 crore (India net) on Day 15 (2nd Thursday) in all languages, which was one of its lowest single-day totals since its debut.

Hindi accounts for the majority of the film’s current India net collection, which is at ₹230.94 crore. With ₹52 crore on Day 1, the movie got off to a great start thanks to its Telugu and Hindi translations. On Day 2, it reached its highest point at ₹57.85 crore, representing an increase of 11.25%.

But during the weekend, collections fell precipitously, falling by more than 42% on Saturday (₹33.25 crore) and by a small amount on Sunday (₹32.65 crore). Monday saw a sharp decline in the weekday trend, falling 73% to ₹8.75 crore.

In India, the first week ended at a remarkable ₹204.25 crore net. With ₹4 crore on Friday, ₹6.85 crore on Saturday, and ₹7.25 crore on Sunday, the second weekend saw a minor resurgence. Week 2 ended with a total of ₹230.56 crore, indicating a fall once more. The largest contribution (₹173.15 crore over the two weeks) came from the Hindi translation, which was followed by Telugu and Tamil.

Even with a great start, the movie saw sharp declines during the week, suggesting a mixed sustainability after the opening weekend. On Thursday, August 28, 2025, War 2 had an overall Hindi occupancy of 6.30% in terms of viewer turnout. The occupancy rate for Hindi 2D shows was 5.03% in the morning, 6.87% in the afternoon, and 7.01% in the evening.

With an overall occupancy rate of 12.69%, the Telugu version outperformed the English version in terms of attendance, suggesting a comparatively stronger hold on the South Indian market. After Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3, this film, which was directed by Ayan Mukerji, is the sixth installment in the YRF Spy Universe.

Ashutosh Rana and Kiara Advani play important roles, while Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR play the main roles. Critics gave the movie lukewarm to bad reviews when it came out, citing poor visual effects and poor script as its main flaws.
