Sachet-Parampara break silence on Raanjhan plagiarism row; call claims ‘false and misleading’

The plagiarism controversy around Kriti Sanon and Kajol’s Do Patti track Raanjhan has intensified, with composers Sachet-Parampara firmly denying allegations by international producer KMKZ and vowing legal action.

The much-talked-about Do Patti track Raanjhan, featuring Kriti Sanon and Kajol, has been at the center of a plagiarism storm this week. International music producer KMKZ accused T-Series and composers Sachet-Parampara of lifting one of his beats uploaded online two years ago. He claimed the song, now boasting over 290 million Spotify streams and topping Indian charts, was taken without credit or permission.

Reacting strongly to these accusations, Sachet Tandon and Parampara Thakur, known together as Sachet-Parampara, have rejected the claims outright. In an interview, Parampara said the allegations were “false and aimed at gaining unnecessary popularity.” She revealed that original music files and piano scores were shared with platforms like YouTube and Spotify, which confirmed their authenticity. According to her, the F sharp chord progression used in Raanjhan is common in music and can be employed by any composer.

The duo also confirmed that their lawyers are pursuing a defamation case against KMKZ, stating that their decade-long reputation in the industry should not be tarnished by misleading claims. “Our fans’ trust is most important to us,” Parampara added, stressing they have never relied on plagiarism in their career.

Interestingly, this is not the first plagiarism row for the Do Patti album. Earlier, Kolkata-based producer Rajarshi Mitter accused the makers of copying his composition for the song Maiyya and issued a legal notice.
