Actor-filmmaker Dhanush made a strong appeal to his fans during the trailer launch of his upcoming film Idli Kadai in Coimbatore. The star raised concerns about the growing culture of fake reviews on social media, pointing out how some appear even before the first show of a movie concludes.
Dhanush explained that such premature reviews could mislead audiences. “After the movie releases, there will be a few reviews that will come out at 8 AM when the movie itself is released at 9 AM. Please don’t believe such reviews. If a film releases at 9 AM, one will only get to know how the film is by 12:30 PM,” he said. He further urged fans to watch the film themselves or consult someone who has genuinely seen it before forming an opinion.
The actor stressed that cinema deserves a healthy atmosphere free of unnecessary negativity, since countless livelihoods depend on its success. “Everybody’s films must do well, all the producers must do well. Not just in this industry, there are a lot of people outside it as well who are dependent on it. There are a lot of businesses that are dependent on it. It is important that all films run successfully; this is in your hands,” Dhanush noted.
With Idli Kadai generating buzz, the actor’s message highlighted not just his faith in audiences but also his concern for the wider ecosystem of Tamil cinema.
