Tej Pratap Yadav, a former minister of Bihar, declared on Friday that he would “choose death over returning to the RJD,” from which his father Lalu Prasad had dismissed him a few months prior. Yadav, who is running for assembly from the Mahua assembly constituency and has since founded the Janshakti Janta Dal, ridiculed his younger brother Tejashwi’s selection as the INDIA bloc’s chief ministerial candidate in an interview with PTI Videos, emphasising that “one needs the people’s blessings to occupy the seat of power.”
“Death is preferable to going back to the celebration. Power does not appeal to me. When asked if he could return to RJD, he responded, “Principles and self-respect are paramount for me.”
“Working for the people is the most important thing to me. People love and trust me because I truly do that,” he declared. Yadav stated, “I have been attached to this constituency since much before I entered politics.” Yadav is attempting to regain Mahua, the seat from which he made his election debut in 2015.
“People express gratitude to me for being receptive to their needs and for being their MLA. Yadav asserted that he did not view incumbent RJD lawmaker Mukesh Raushan, a close friend of his younger brother, as a significant obstacle, saying, “They say they have nobody to turn for help now.”
He responded, “Of course, she was the one with whose blessings my father rose in politics,” when reminded of the gesture. When asked if he also called his parents to ask for their blessings, Yadav replied, “We haven’t spoken in a while. However, I am aware that I am blessed by them. He compared himself to Lord Krishna and spoke of Tejashwi, whom he used to call Arjuna, saying, “Of course, he used to have my blessings as a younger brother. I was unable to use the Sudarshan Chakra on him. ”
The selection of Tejashwi as the chief ministerial candidate of the INDIA alliance appeared to have little effect on Tej Pratap Yadav, who had always been eclipsed in public life by his astute younger brother. However, it appeared that the former RJD leader still disliked the ruling NDA. “People are not going to be deceived by the nefarious designs of the BJP-RSS combine anymore,” he stated.
The JJD leader responded, “Nothing is different,” when asked how this election is different for him because he is not a member of the RJD. My family is the people of Mahua. I’m running for office under my own party, which uses Blackboard as its emblem.”
“Someone who has seen Mahatma Gandhi with his own eyes is travelling with me,” he claimed, gesturing to an elderly, unnamed ‘liberation fighter’ at his side. What else am I in need of? Yadav stated of Prashant Kishor, the founder of Jan Suraaj, “He is a trader at best.” He assembles resources for parties as part of his campaign activities. He is currently doing that.
