Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 will debut on OTT on October 31 following its successful theatrical run. For the time being, the original Kannada version of the movie as well as dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam will be available on the well-known streaming behemoth Amazon Prime Video.
A month later, the period drama’s Hindi version will be made available online. Given the excitement around the movie, the producers of Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 requested Rs. 125 crores for the OTT rights, according to Bollywood Hungama. Netflix agreed to provide them Rs. 100 crores after they approached it. A better offer was made by Amazon Prime Video, which paid Rs. 110 crores for the streaming rights. This is how movies ended up on Prime Video.
For a Kannada movie, this is the second-highest OTT contract ever. KGF-Chapter 2 (2022) continues to be the most popular, with digital rights selling for more than Rs. 300 crores. It’s interesting to note that Hombale Films, which deserves recognition for putting Kannada cinema on the international scene with these enormous triumphs, supports both the KGF and Kantara franchises.
Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, Sapthami Gowda, and Rishab Shetty played key parts in Kantara. When a greedy landlord who is thought to be sympathetic with the locals attempts to steal the land in a deceitful manner, a carefree young man in a Karnataka jungle emerges as a hero. The plot revolves around the villagers’ devotion to Panjurli, a deity who guards the forest’s inhabitants.
In Chapter 1 of Kantara: A Legend, Rishab Shetty co-stars with Jayaram, Gulshan Devaiah, and Rukmini Vasanth. The goal of this movie is to explore the mythological tradition and ancestral strife that were initially shown in the first movie in greater detail. Rishab Shetty is the director of both movies. It’s interesting that Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 concludes with the announcement of Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 2, the sequel.
