Riva Arora has opened up about one of her most memorable moments from the sets of Uri The Surgical Strike, the film that remains a defining milestone in Vicky Kaushal’s career. Known for his powerful performances and massive fan following, Vicky delivered one of his most celebrated roles in the Aditya Dhar directorial, which went on to win four National Awards, including Best Actor for him and Best Director for Dhar.
Riva, who played Vicky’s onscreen niece in the film, looked back at their bond while speaking to Filmygyan. She affectionately shared that she still calls him “Vicky Mamu,” even though she now tries to address him as “VK.”
She described him as completely different from his tough soldier avatar in the film, calling him one of the sweetest and most supportive people on set. Riva recalled moments when the cast would record fun videos between takes, much to director Aditya Dhar’s playful frustration as he reminded them to stay focused before emotional scenes.
The young actor said the most unforgettable memory came during her war cry scene, one of the film’s most emotional moments. She revealed that she completed the performance in one take, and Vicky was the first to cheer loudly. He hugged her immediately after the scene, and later told her he had tears in his eyes even though the camera wasn’t on him. For Riva, his reaction felt like a moment of validation, something she says she will cherish forever.
