Late businessman Sunjay Kapur’s sister, Mandhira Kapur, has spoken out strongly about the constant allegations surrounding her brother’s personal life. In a new episode of the InControversial Podcast, Mandhira criticised people who often labelled Sunjay a “womanizer”, calling the remarks unfair and disrespectful. She said it was painful to watch her late brother’s name being dragged into negativity, especially now that he is no longer alive to respond.
During the conversation, Mandhira also addressed the long-standing claims that Sunjay mistreated actor Karisma Kapoor during their marriage. She denied the rumours, insisting that their relationship simply went through a difficult divorce, like many others.
Mandhira added that people often oversimplify such situations and forget that separations are emotionally heavy for everyone involved. She urged people to stop targeting children, ex-partners, and family members while discussing complicated relationships. She also revealed that Karisma and Sunjay had reunited during her own honeymoon, a detail she shared to highlight how unpredictable relationships can be.
Mandhira then spoke about Sunjay’s second marriage to Priya Sachdev Kapur. She admitted that she regrets convincing her father to allow the marriage, claiming that Priya behaved very differently before and after tying the knot. Mandhira said she felt misled and now considers it a mistake to have supported the relationship.
The family is already dealing with another major challenge. Sunjay’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, recently approached the Delhi High Court, alleging that the will presented by Priya Sachdev Kapur is fake.
After a hearing on 17 November, the court issued notices to Priya and to Shradha Suri Marwah, who is named as the executor of the disputed will. They have been asked to submit their replies within three weeks. Samaira and Kiaan have claimed that the will has been forged to exclude them from their father’s estate. The case will next be heard on 16 December.
