The number of coronavirus cases in the India has risen to a level comparable to this period last year, after reaching a low point in mid-February. The Centre stated that regular COVID-19 cases increased sharply in ten states: Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Kerala, and Punjab. Several states have declared lockdown-style limits in order to keep the COVID-19 count under control.

Let us look at the guidelines that must be followed in each state.

Maharashtra
Maharashtra remained the leading contributor, with 59,907 new infections on April 8. No one is permitted to be in a public space unless there is a compelling cause. And all businesses, public facilities, events, and utilities will be closed, with the exception of essential services, which will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on working days. Filming for movies, serials, and commercials will be prohibited, and weddings will be limited to 25 guests.
2. Punjab
The Punjab government enforced stringent controls, including a restriction on social events and the closure of schools and colleges until March 31. Exceptions include marriage, funerals, and cremations for up to 20 people, as well as medical and nursing colleges. Cinema halls will remain open with a 50% capacity, and malls will be limited to 100 people.
3. Karnataka
The Karnataka government made it compulsory for visitors from Punjab, Chandigarh, Kerala, and Maharashtra to bring a COVID-19 negative RT-PCR report that is no more than 72 hours old. If citizens do not obey COVID norms, Karnataka has enforced a night curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. in Bengaluru, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Mangaluru, Mysuru, Tumakuru, and Udupi (Manipa)l districts until April 20. The Bengaluru Municipal Corporation is planning a partial lockdown of the district.
4. Delhi
The Delhi government has formulated a seven-hour night curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., effective immediately. Exempt from the night curfew are only those travelling for vaccinations or connected with vital care, pregnant mothers, and central and Delhi government officials participating with emergency services.
5. Tamil Nadu
Passengers from Maharashtra and Kerala must follow a compulsory 7-day home quarantine and must be monitored for another 7 days. Any other visitors from other states must keep a 14-day health record.
6. Gujarat
The restriction will be in effect from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot. Both offline classes and exams in schools and colleges in eight municipal corporations in Gujarat have been postponed until April 10.
Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, Surat, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Junagadh, and Gandhinagar are among the districts.
