Delhi Capitals won the toss and decided to field against the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahemdabad. Delhi kept it tight and choked RCB by dismissing both their openers in the powerplay.
Kohli was caught bowled by Avesh Khan while Devdutt Padikkal was sent back home by Ishant Sharma. Ishant made his IPL 2021 debut with a bang delivering a maiden wicket. He delivered an excellent four-over spell with an economy of 6.50.
Sharma has so far taken 72 wickets in his IPL career and has one five-wicket haul in his name. Sharma’s IPL best figure so far stands five for 12. He made his IPL debut with the opening of the IPL in 2008. This seems like a decent start for the right-arm fast bowler this season at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
