In the post-match interview with the winning captain Kohli, it was delightful to see how he appreciated Ab de Villiers for his tremendous batting when the team needed him the most.
Kohli mentioned that despite him not playing any international cricket he still delivers with the very best of him.
“He doesn’t like me saying but he hasn’t played any competitive cricket for five months, and if you look at his batting, you don’t feel like he doesn’t play any international cricket anymore. Hats off to him, he keeps doing it again and again for us”. said, Kohli.
Ab scored a terrific 75 not-out off just 42 balls including three fours and five maximum. He conceded 23 runs off the final over by Marcus Stoinis to help RCB reach a total of 171 for five. He also surpassed the 5000 run milestone and registered his 40th IPL fifty.
RCB prevailed in the match by one run. Mohammad Siraj bowled the final over not letting Pant go for the maximum off the last ball.
