As Barcelona captain Lionel Messi mulls his future at the Camp Nou, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have expressed their desire to sign him. Since handing out a transfer order just over nine months ago, the six-time Ballon d’Or winner’s contract expired in the summer and he remains free to trade with other clubs. Particularly on a free transfer, signing the 33-year-old won’t be easy, but PSG believes they have the financial clout to pull it off.
PSG has placed a two-year deal on the table for Lionel Messi, according to TNT Sports Brazil, which they deem “unbeatable”.
As an extra bonus, the Barcelona captain will be given the No.10 jersey, and they feel their goals are compatible with Messi’s aim to win the Champions League once again, as shown by their presence in the final last season and their incredible run to the semi-finals this season. PSG’s No.10 jersey is presently worn by Neymar, who played alongside Messi at Barcelona before joining PSG for £200 million.
PSG may assemble a forward row of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe if this Lionel Messi move news comes true. Though Neymar and Mbappe have had some success together, having Messi on their side will take them to the next stage and help them achieve their goal of winning the League. Despite this, the PSG pair has yet to sign contract extensions with the club, and although the Brazilian has shrugged off rumors about his departure, his French teammate has not. Mbappe has been heavily linked to Real Madrid, though Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea have all kept an eye on his case.
