Returning of Massimiliano Allegri will replace Pirlo as Juventus head coach

The return of Massimiliano is set to replace Pirlo as Juventus’s head coach. Allegri is awaited to sign a contract with Juventus in the next 24 hours. Pirlo had led Juventus to the Coppa Italia but could not deliver a 10th Serie A title in a row and had only secured a Champions League spot on the final day of the season.

The 53-year-old (Allegri) was out of work since May 2019 when he left the Turin club to be replaced by Maurizio Sarri. In his first senior management role, Pirlo guided Juventus to the Champions League last season when Napoli failed to clinch Hellas Verona on the last day of the campaign.

Discussion between Juventus Chairman Andrea Agnelli and Allegri has reached a positive conclusion, though Pirlo set to leave his position as head coach due to a disappointing 2020-21 campaign.

With Juventus having failed to progress efficiently under the command of Pirlo, they have now elected to had the reins back to Allegri. Allegri mostly will have more freedom in the transfer market than before, which is likely to play an important role in him agreeing to his return. The Juventus boss also has to look out for player exits, with the future of Cristiano Ronaldo, who is contracted till 2022.
