Xiaomi introduces HyperCharge technology that can charge phone in 10 minutes or under

Xiaomi, a well-known Chinese smartphone maker asseverates that it possesses a newly engineered battery charging technology that can power a 4000 mAh battery in only eight minutes. It is speculated that the charging technology is an addition to an existing technology that the company had disclosed last year.

The technology is being referred to as the Xiaomi HyperCharge and utilizes 200W charging to actualize the mentioned charging speeds. Xiaomi also alleges that the battery can be charged in 15 minutes when utilizing a 120W wireless charger. It has also mentioned that the 4000 mAh battery would charge in 17 minutes if one was adopting a 100W system.  Although, Xiaomi hasn’t aforementioned a lot concerning the technology, other than showing a demo video using Twitter.

In addition to that, Xiaomi has not been apparent of the use of this technology on its devices that are going to release in 2021. The most recent phone that they launched was the Mi 11 Ultra, which is said to charge its 5000 mAh battery in 40-45 minutes using the 67W charger provided with the phone. The Mi 11 Ultra shows a slight decline in their technology since 2020 as the Mi 10 Ultra, which was released last year could charge its 2500 mAh battery using a 120W charger in less than 30 minutes.

Examinations are typically conducted when there are ideal circumstances, which suggest that the results might not be similar every time. To add to that, these technologies conjointly need specialized equipment, which means that users ought to obtain them from the producers themselves, which makes it hard to get repetitive results.

Granting the improvement in technology, when the topic of smartphone battery is considered, there have not been any significant advancements and due to that, the speed at which a phone charges has now become a strong determinant of the sales of a phone and also a differentiating factor amongst Chinese device manufacturers such as Oppo, Realme, Vivo, and others.
