WTC Final: Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, along with other family members, can travel to the United Kingdom with the team, given approval

The Kohli-led team will be in the United Kingdom for nearly four months, where they will compete in the inaugural World Test Championship final, followed by a five-match Test series against England.

The cricketers’ families will be permitted to travel with the squad as part of a big relief for the Virat Kohli-led Team, which will embark on a lengthy tour to England. The UK government has given permission for this. This would provide a reprieve for players throughout the pandemic.

The Kohli-led team will be in the United Kingdom for nearly four months, where they will compete in the inaugural World Test Championship final, followed by a five-match Test series against England. The women’s squad will also go to the United Kingdom, where they will play one Test, three ODIs, and three T20Is against England.

Cricketers’ families, including Kohli’s wife, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, and their daughter Vamika, will travel on the chartered plane used by both the men’s and women’s teams. They’d arrive in London on June 3. The squad will travel from London to Southampton, the location of the World T20 final.

“As per the bio-safety protocols established for the event, in line with UK government and Public Health England requirements, the Indian men’s team will arrive in the UK on 3 June 2021 via a charter flight and carrying evidence of a negative PCR Test,” the ICC stated.

After arriving in London for their one-off Test against England, the Indian women will go to Bristol. The men’s squad is also due to resume supervised training at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton following quarantine.
