The unforeseen ‘Covid 19’ pandemic situation brought almost every employees to work from home. The remote working experience drew overwhelming response. Consequently, business software group SAP is adopting flexible working for its 100,000 employees around the world.
Julia White, SAP’s chief marketing and solution officer said, “It gives employees 100 per cent flexibility,” in an interview to Reuters. The group, headquartered in Germany informed that in an internal polling, 94 percent of the employees desired to take advantage of the greater working flexibility, while nearly half planned to work in the office for one or two days a week in future.
SAP informed to its staff through an email that it was adopting a “flexible and trust based workplace as the norm, not the exception.” Through this the employees will be able to work from home, at the office or remotely and will be able to set flexible schedule for them. The company also plans to redesign its offices to make more space for teamwork and collaboration.
The company’s “pledge to flex” ensures the range of preferences expressed by the employees. It’s 16 percent employees preferred to work only remotely while 6 percent planned to work from office five days a week.
