Ellen DeGeneres, who recently announced the final season of her hit talk show ‘Ellen’, has already started approaching big names and A-List celebrities in Hollywood for the final episodes of the talk show, expected to end in the year 2022. Some of the biggest representatives of A-Listers including a few of Ellen’s favorites like Justin Bieber, Kevin Hart, and Jennifer Anniston have been approached by producers of Ellen for the taping of the season finale scheduled to happen in April 2022. Reports suggest that Ellen expects to leave the show with a bang in one big final week, which explains the hunt for reps to get their talents on board.
Ellen DeGeneres announced last month about the ending of the show in its 19th season. However, the date of airing the final episode has not been announced yet. DeGeneres justified her decision by saying that the job, as fun as it may be, was not challenging anymore and that as a creative person, one constantly needs to be challenged. She also insisted that she was not quitting the show over the allegations of toxic behavior, which she finds too orchestrated, coordinated, and misogynistic.
DeGeneres also claims that the plan to end her show after 19 seasons was well in place before the allegations against her bullying and creating toxic work culture cropped up, contrasting her on-screen persona as a likable personality and her mantra – ‘Be kind’.
‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ that started airing in the year 2003 has aired well over 3000 episodes and was one of the most popular talk shows since it began. However, amidst new allegations against the host, ratings dropped significantly in 2020 which proved to be a mammoth blow to the reputation of the host and the show. Celebrities like Scooter Braun, Katy Perry, Diane Keaton, and others had supported DeGeneres during the allegations. Nonetheless, speculations about the ending of her long-running series are still attached to the recent allegations, which Ellen continues to deny by saying how she does not understand the social media toxicity surrounding her name.
