After a long persisted hunt of 22 years, a man was finally arrested on the charges of facilitating logistics and providing shelter to terrorists in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, as per the statements given by the police. After being named under several sections of the Ranbir Penal Code for helping in 1999, militant Moi-ud-din had gone underground, as claimed by a police spokesperson while talking to media.
The accused Moi-ud-din has been claimed to be a resident of Shikari village in Mahore area of Jammu and Kashmir. The Raesi police arrested the 14th absconder within six weeks added the police spokesperson.
A local court had issued a warrant under section 512 of CrPC against the accused on February 18, 2002 when a charge sheet was produced for the same in the court, he added. Since the case was registered, the accused did not participate in the investigation proceedings. He could be not apprehended by anyone, as mentioned by the police.
After a planned and coordinated effort by a particular team of police station, assigned for finding about the militant, they followed his whereabouts based on the inputs about his movement and presence in the area given by spies and locals. The accused was arrested at the end of the investigation, he concluded.
