Sonakshi Sinha encourages fans to replant and adopt trees

Actress Sonakshi Sinha came forward to encourage her fans to replant and adopt tress which were devastated due to Tauktae Cyclone.

Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha came forward to encourage her fans to replant and adopt trees. The actress herself adopted a tree. She took this initiative after the devastation caused by the Tauktae Cyclone that hit Maharashtra last month.

Sonakshi posted few pictures from the campaign on her Instagram handle. In those pictures, she is seen along with father, Shatrughan Sinha and mother, Poonam Sinha. The actress was seen watering the tree, she adopted.

She wrote, “Now you can adopt a tree.. or two.. or three!!! 🌳🌴🌲 Mumbai lost about 2363 trees because of Cyclone Tauktae and about 348 of those were in the K west ward itself… kudos to the Assistant Commissioner MCGM K/West ward Mr. Mote and his team at @my_bmc for starting this amazing initiative where conscious people of the community can replant and adopt trees that were uprooted!”

Various celebrities like Dia Mirza and Priyank Sharma, commented and applauded her work. She has always been sensitive towards environment and showed her social responsibility in one or the other way.

In a recent interview with IANS, the actress spoke about climate change and said, “We end up in the environment we create for ourselves, and we must make sure that it’s beautiful. The current situation around us is making us think hard about climate change, and the kind of effect it has on our planet. As responsible individuals, if we make small sustainable changes to our daily routine then together, we can create a healthier environment to live in.”

The Dabangg actress will be next seen in the movie, Bhuj: The Pride of India, directed by Abhishek Dhudaiya. The movie also stars Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Nora Fatehi and Sharad Kelkar.
