On Wednesday the PMO said that Two 250-beds to makeshift COVID hospitals will established in West Bengal Murshibad and Kalyani with allocation of Rs.41.62 crore. Two 250-bed makeshift Covid hospitals are going to be established in West Bengal ‘s Murshidabad and Kalyani and a sum of Rs.41.62 crore has been allocated from the PM CARES fund for it, the Prime Minister’s Office said on Wednesday.

PMO also added that, the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES) Fund trust had, in its attempt to support the development of health infrastructure, helped establish COVID-19 hospitals in Bihar, Delhi, Jammu and Srinagar.
The PM CARES Fund trust pronounced today to allocate Rs.41.62 crore for establishment of two 250-bed makeshift COVID hospitals by the Defence Research and Development Organization at Murshidabad and Kalyani, West Bengal, it said. For this, certain infrastructural support would even be provided by the government and therefore the Union health ministry.
The statement also mentioned that, this proposal will augment health infrastructure in West Bengal to effectively manage the COVID-19 situation.
The Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund i.e termed as PM CARES Fund and was created on 27 March 2020, following the COVID-19 pandemic in India. The stated purpose of the fund is for combating, and containment and relief efforts against the coronavirus outbreak and similar pandemic like situations within the future.
