Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie is based on the life of the Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan. The Karni Sena and Akhil Bhartiya Kshatriya Mahasabha, criticized the movie for its name. According to them, it is extremely disrespectful to call such a great warrior by his name. However, makers of the film didn’t take any steps in this regard.
Because of this, the members of Akhil Bhartiya Kshatriya Mahasabha protested at Chandigarh. According to Pinkvilla, the members of the Mahasabha organized at protest at sector 45 in Chandigarh. The members warned the director and producers of the film to fulfill their demands or else they will have to face the same consequences ‘Padmaavat’ and ‘Jodha Akbar’ had to.
The members were seen screaming for their demands in the protest. Later, they also burnt the effigy of the film’s director producer and actor, Akshay Kumar. The protestors demand to change the name of the film to ‘Hindu Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan’ or ‘Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan’. They also demanded for a special screening of the film for the members before its release.
The movie is produced by Yash Raj films and is directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi. Along with Akshay Kumar, the movie also stars Manushi Chillar, Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Manav Vij and several others. The film is expected to release in Diwali, this year.
