A viral video shows Barack Obama responding “Nope” after a staffer asks George W. Bush if he plans to ‘behave’ at Donald Trump’s inauguration

A video from Donald Trump’s inauguration has recently gone viral, showcasing a lighthearted interaction between former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush. In the video, a White House staffer asks Bush, “Are you going to behave?” to which Obama, from behind Bush, jokingly responds, “Nope.” The moment was captured and shared on X (formerly Twitter), quickly gaining widespread attention, with over 9.3 million views.

A TikToker named Jackie, known for her lip-reading videos, decoded the conversation, revealing that Obama had asked Bush, “How can we stop what’s happening?” in reference to Trump’s inauguration. Both Obama and Bush then shared a laugh, making the moment both humorous and relatable.

While Obama attended Trump’s inauguration, he had campaigned for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in 2020 and expressed strong opposition to Trump’s return to power. During a rally in Georgia in 2024, Obama called Trump “crazy” and warned that his return could be disastrous. However, following the 2024 election results, Obama and his wife, Michelle, congratulated Trump on his victory.

Despite their political differences, Obama and Trump appeared to have a cordial relationship during President Jimmy Carter’s funeral, leading some to speculate that they might share a more amicable connection than previously thought.
