AAP gets more than Rs.37 crores in 2019-20 as donations

The Aam Aadmi Party received more than Rs.37 crore as donations by individuals and corporates in 2019-2020 as compared to Rs.14.61 crore in 2018-2019.

35% of their contributions came from Prudent Electoral Trust which contributed Rs.13.06 crore. The other big contributors were the New Democratic Electoral Trust that donated Rs.1 crore. The Representation of People Act asks political parties to only declare donations over Rs.20,000 but AAP declared all their donations to the Election Commission. Prudent Electoral Trust made eight successive contributions from Rs 5 lakh to Rs.5 crore.

The political party recieved 57% more donations in 2019-2020 as compared to 2018-2019. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal himself contributed Rs.1.20 lakh to the party fund. The list of donors in the contribution report is above 350 pages.
