Naveen Kasturia, who began his career as an assistant director before gaining recognition with web series like Pitchers and Aspirants, has raised an important concern about the working environment on Bollywood sets. Speaking in a recent interview, the actor revealed that juniors and crew members are often subjected to disrespect from senior figures.
He pointed out that this kind of behavior is largely seen in India, where a “big versus small” mindset continues to dominate. “On sets, you can often see someone in a senior position shouting, abusing, or speaking rudely to a crew member. It happens a lot, and it is very wrong. At a basic level, everyone deserves respect,” he said.
Interestingly, Naveen also highlighted the difference between working conditions in India and abroad. “When the same people go outside India for shoots, they realise you cannot speak to junior artists or crew members in that manner. There’s no feudalism there. Here, we make too much of hierarchy, and it shows on film sets,” he added.
Most recently, Naveen appeared in Fakur Kabir’s thriller series Salakaar, co-starring Mouni Roy, Mukesh Rishi, Surya Sharma, and Ashwath Bhatt. The show is streaming on JioHotstar, while the actor is yet to announce his upcoming project.
