1. History
This group was established as a commodity trading firm in 1988 and grew quickly and diversified into the import and export of multi-basket commodities. In the 1990s, this group developed its port in Mundra to provide a base for its trading operations. In 1995, the group started construction at Mundra. In 1998, the Adani group became the top net foreign exchange earner for India. In 1999, the company was engaged in coal trading, followed by a joint venture in edible oil refining in 2000 by forming Adani Wilmar. Later in the second phase, 2002, the group handled four million MT of cargo at Mudra and became the largest private port in India. In 2006, the Adani became the largest coal importer in India along with 11 million MT of coal handling. In 2008, the company bought Bunyu Mine in Indonesia having 180 million MT of coal reserves. In 2011, the company bought Galilee Basin mine in Australia with 10.4 billion MT of coal reserves. In the third phase, 2012, the group embarked on the development of the integration infrastructure business. As the company focuses on three important business that includes resources, logistics and energy. In 2014, the company was termed as India’s largest private power producer. Its power’s total installed capacity now stands at 8,620 MW.

a) Adani Enterprises Limited

This company focuses on establishing new businesses in the infrastructure and energy sector. The company was established in 1994. Its market capitalisation is Rs 22,909 crores. Their three years sales growth is 5,89% along with 0.61 debt-equity. Adani Power, Adani Transmission, Adani Green and Adani Gas Limited were demerged from this company.
b) Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ)

This company is the largest commercial ports operator in India accounting for nearly one-fourth of the cargo movement in the country. This is the main company in Adani Group Subsidiaries. It has 10 domestic ports in six maritime states such as Gujarat, Goa, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Odisha. The market capitalisation of this company is Rs 77,715 crores. This company is the largest private thermal power producer in India. It also has a power generation capacity of 12,450 MW comprising thermal power plants in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh and a 40MW solar power in Gujarat. d) Adani Transmission Limited (ATL)

This company was established in 2006. In 2018, the company forayed into the distribution space with the acquisition of Reliance Infrastructure’s Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution business in Mumbai. Presently, Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited (AEML) provides electricity over 3 million customers in Mumbai. The market capitalisation of this company is Rs 38,114 crores. The three-year sales growth of ATL is 49.33% along with 1.93 debt-equity. e) Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL)

f) Adani Gas Limited (AGL)
