Adani ports acquire DPL to make new gateway in Maharashtra

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) completely acquired Dighi Port Limited (DPL) that is located near Rajpuri Creek in Raigad district of Maharashtra for Rs.705 crore.

DPL is 170 km south from Mumbai by road and 42 nautical miles (NM) from Mumbai port. APSEZ in a regulatory filing said that the company want to invest Rs.10,000 crore and build a multi-cargo port. Dighi Port is the 12th port acquired by APSEZ and provides the gateway it needs to establish a foothold in Maharashtra. It will help them provide better service to their customers in Maharashtra. As of now the deal has been approved by the Maharashtra Maritime Board (MMB) and APSEZ has settled all their pending dues.

The company mentioned in their regulatory filing, “APSEZ plans to invest over Rs.10,000 crore to develop the port into a multi-cargo port with world-class infrastructure as well as investing in the development of rail and road evacuation infrastructure for seamless and efficient cargo movement.”
