Nissan on Monday released a statement in which it said that the Japanese car maker is not in talks with Apple for manufacturing and developing it’s precious project of self driving electric cars. This comes after Hyundai also denied its association with the tech maker last week.
Apple’s most famous and talked about project of electric self driving cars named, Project Titan has been known to be the talk of the town. The project has been happening for few years now but it was first unveiled in 2016 by Chief Executive, Tim Cook but nothing has been concrete ever since and the details has been kept under the wraps by Apple and it has maintained a close lip on it.
Nissan denied the rumors but it also said that the company is always open for new collaborations and partnerships which result in transformation in auto industry. A source close to Nissan reported that the company is not interested in giving its profit margins to Apple as when you develop a project for Apple brand – you tend to give your soul and your profits to Apple. And Nissan is not interested in that and doesn’t require the tech brand name to sell.
Ever since the release of the statement, Nissan share prices fell by 2.8% and was trading at 610 yen.
