The Society for Creative Satisfaction unveiled Agni-Samadhi, a narrative poem by poet Vimal Mehra, in a grand event at Bal Niketan School, Jodhpur. The poem is based on Chittorgarh’s first Saka and Jauhar, commemorating the courage and sacrifice of its people. The event was presided over by senior critic Dr. Ramakant Sharma, with Dr. Haridas Vyas and storyteller Hari Prakash Rathi as distinguished guests.
Society president Dr. Sunil Mathur and secretary Kamal Sharma highlighted the organization’s contributions to literary excellence as it nears its silver jubilee. The dignitaries honored Mehra with traditional accolades, followed by his recitation of excerpts from Agni-Samadhi.
Dr. Vyas lauded the emotional depth of the poem, remarking on the importance of balancing metrical precision with expressive storytelling. Rathi praised the narrative for preserving India’s oral tradition, stating, “Mehra’s poetic chronicle is a treasure for every Indian household.”
A celebrated poet, Mehra has authored several collections, including Gaa mere mann gaa. His works are regularly published in leading literary platforms, cementing his reputation as a torchbearer of India’s poetic legacy.
