Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda have been one of the most talked-about on-screen pairs this year. Their debut film Saiyaara turned them into overnight favourites, with fans convinced that their sparkling chemistry had also blossomed into real-life romance. Even filmmaker Karan Johar recently hinted on Sania Mirza’s talk show that they might become Bollywood’s next big couple. But Ahaan has now cleared the air once and for all.
In a new conversation with GQ India, Ahaan addressed the rumours directly and shared what truly defines his bond with Aneet. He explained that their closeness does not mean they are dating. “Aneet is my best friend. The whole internet thinks we’re together, but we’re not,” he said, adding that true chemistry is not always romantic. For him, it is rooted in comfort, understanding, and the feeling of being seen.
Ahaan also shared that the two had connected deeply while working on Saiyaara, often reminding each other of a Paulo Coelho quote they both loved: It’s the possibility of a dream coming true that makes life interesting. According to him, creating the film together made that dream a reality. “Even though she’s not my girlfriend, I’ll never have a bond like I have with Aneet,” he added.
Finally setting the record straight, Ahaan confirmed his relationship status: “I’m single.” Reflecting on how he loves in a relationship, he said that his past girlfriends have told him his love language is all about acts of service and grand gestures.
