AIIMS Delhi set to resume OPD in a phased manner from June 18

With the decreasing cases of the COVID-19 the situation in Delhi, AIIMS has decided to restart its OPD services in a gradual manner. In this phase, OPD walk-in registration will not be resumed in the hospital. It will be accessible only to patients with an advance appointment.

AIIMS Dr. MS D.K Sharma displayed a notice saying, “In view of the considerable decrease in Covid-19 cases, it’s been decided by the Director of AIIMS to restart the OPD services in a systematic manner at the earliest and latest by June 18, 2021.”

Walk-in OPD registrations had been discontinued in the first week of May following the high number of cases in the city. When the cases continued to stream, physical OPD services were declined from April 22.

The notice mentioned the rules for the OPD bookings which is, “HODs of all clinical departments are requested to provide the given number of new and keep a track of OPD patients per day who are to tend online/telephonic appointments. As of now, OPD registration are going to be done just for such patients who are having online/telephonic appointments, and a choice to permit walk-in registrations are going to be taken later after reviewing COVID-19 situation.”

According to the latest report the current number of cases on Monday were 255 new cases with 376 recoveries and 23 deaths in last 24 hours. The positivity rate is at 0.35 percent.
