Air India Express, a domestic airline, announced on Friday that it will start operating flights from Navi Mumbai International Airport on December 25. The first flight will depart from the recently built facility for Bengaluru.
According to the statement, Air India Express’s growing network from Bengaluru, which is still one of its major hubs, is further enhanced by the new services from Navi Mumbai. According to the airline, Air India Express will begin operating daily flights to Bengaluru and five weekly flights to Delhi, its two biggest domestic hubs, on December 25, the first day of commercial operations at the airport.
The airline stated that it will run twice-daily flights on both of these routes starting in January 2026. Recently, flights from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Jodhpur, and Udaipur were added by Air India Express, the low-cost division of Air India, which is controlled by the Tata Group.
According to Air India Express, the airline has more than 530 weekly flights out of the city and recently started direct flights from Bengaluru to Bangkok, Jeddah, Kuwait, and Riyadh. Aloke Singh, Managing Director of Air India Express, stated, “We are happy to work with the airport as it opens up capacity for Mumbai and its catchment area, putting one of India’s largest transport hubs back on a rapid growth trajectory.”
Direct service to Bengaluru and New Delhi will be provided by Air India Express, along with smooth subsequent connections on the AIX and AI networks. “Going forward, we will add more flights in a phased manner as we expand our operations at Navi Mumbai,” Singh stated. Currently, Air India Express connects 45 domestic and 16 overseas destinations with more than 500 daily flights. The airline operates 115 aircraft, including 40 Airbus A320s and 75 Boeing 737s.
