On Tuesday, she moved the Delhi High Court seeking an order to restrain digital platforms and unidentified parties from circulating such material.
Senior advocate Sandeep Sethi, representing the actor, told the court that “unreal intimate photographs” of Aishwarya were being shared on the internet. “Her name and image are being used to satisfy someone’s sexual desires. This is very unfortunate,” he argued, pointing to how advanced technologies like deepfake tools have been misused to create explicit content by superimposing her face onto objectionable videos.
The plea noted that defendants had been misappropriating her image, name, and voice for commercial gain without her consent. Along with deepfake content, several websites including aishwaryaworld.com, apkpure.com, bollywoodteeshop.com, and kashcollectiveco.com were accused of selling products using her photos illegally. The petition also named larger entities such as Google LLC, e-commerce platform Etsy, YouTube channels, and even an organisation called Aishwarya Nation Wealth Motivational Speaker.
Taking note of the complaint, the Delhi High Court indicated that it would issue an ad-interim order to prevent misuse of Aishwarya’s identity. The bench also said further directions would be given to remove objectionable URLs and safeguard her publicity rights.
