In his post, Devgn shared an exciting update, writing, “IRS Amay Patnaik’s next mission begins from May 2025! #Raid2 releasing on May 1, 2025.” He will reprise his iconic role as IRS officer Amay Patnaik, who took on a powerful politician in the original film.
Directed by Rajkumar Gupta, Raid 2 will be shot in Delhi and Lucknow, continuing the intense, action-packed storyline. Joining Devgn this time are new cast members, including Vaani Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh, in what promises to be an exciting addition to the film. Vaani Kapoor shared her enthusiasm on Instagram, posting a picture with Ajay Devgn during the mahurat shot, expressing her gratitude for being part of the project.
Raid 2 is a sequel to the 2018 film, which was based on a real-life raid in the 1980s. The original film was praised for its gripping narrative, with Devgn’s portrayal of Amay Patnaik receiving widespread acclaim. The sequel, backed by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar, is expected to raise the stakes even higher.
