Akhanda 2 box office: NBK starrer opens to ₹76 crore worldwide weekend

At the Indian box office, Akhanda 2 had a mediocre weekend, earning about Rs. 66.50 crore. With an additional USD 1.10 million (Rs. 10 crore) in foreign box office receipts, the movie’s global weekend total was Rs. 76.50 crore.

On the surface, these figures are among NBK’s highest ever for a film starring him. This isn’t your typical NBK movie, though; instead, it’s driven by the brand value of a highly acclaimed original film that was one of the Telugu film industry’s first post-pandemic hits. Apart from that, the actor-director team has an impressive history. All things considered, the movie hasn’t really lived up to the far higher expectations and expenses.
The opening day, which ought to have struck higher, is the primary offender in this case.

Despite conflicting reviews, the movie held up remarkably well on Saturday. However, Sunday once more failed to reach its full potential, remaining on par with Saturday and really declining everywhere but Andhra Pradesh. The trend is still good, but it isn’t operating at the proper level. The best trend, Coastal Andhra, brought in Rs. 6 crore on Sunday, just over the Rs. 5.50 crore of the original movie, which suffered from absurdly low ticket pricing.

That would be at least Rs. 10 crore when adjusted for current costs. In the Telugu states, the original movie made Rs. 99 crore, which will be extremely difficult, if not impossible, for this movie to achieve.
