Al-Ittihad preparing $65M bid for Son Heung-Min: Report

As reported by ESPN, Al Ittihad is set to make an offer for Tottenham Hotspur player Son Heung-Min with an initial price of €60 million ($65 million) plus bonuses.

Top Saudi teams are interested in a number of Premier League players this summer and Son is the latest high-profile figure to be approached.

According to the ESPM, the source said, Son has been given a four-year contract for €30 million each season. There is some hope among Saudi Pro League clubs that the 30-year-old would be tempted to join Al Ittihad, who is close to finalising a deal to recruit Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante and have already signed former Real Madrid star Karim Benzema.

But pursuing a transaction will be tough since sources have told ESPN that the Spurs would not be interested in listening to an approach if a formal bid is made as planned. Son’s representatives did not immediately respond when contacted by ESPN.

Son’s current Tottenham contract expires in 2025 and he remains a vital player for the club, scoring 145 goals in 371 games since coming from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2015.

Ange Postecoglou, the club’s new coach, is already under competition from Real Madrid, Manchester United, and reportedly Paris Saint-Germain to keep striker Harry Kane at the club.
