Amazon laying off employees from the ‘Amazon Prime Air’ project


According to a report by Financial Times, Amazon is turning to external manufacturers on its delivery drone project called “Amazon Prime Air” due to which the company is laying off dozens of R&D and manufacturing employees. It has finalised deals with Spain and Austria’s aerospace companies to manufacture component part of its drones. With this project, Amazon plans to use electric drones to deliver packages under 2.3 kg.
