E-commerce company Amazon makes a little tweak to its new logo launched for its iOS mobile app after being criticized. Critics said the logo resembled German dictator Adolf Hitler.
The company launched a new logo in January to replicate a brown cardboard box, to resemble a parcel box with blue tape on top and the company’s smile-shaped arrow symbol.
People then found it quite similar looking to Hitler’s toothbrush mustache. Critics compared the ripped piece of tape over the smiling symbol to a photo of Hitler smiling.
Amazon later changed the zig-zag piece of scotch tape design to a folded piece of tape quietly
“Amazon is always exploring new ways to delight our customers. We designed the new icon to spark anticipation, excitement, and joy when customers start their shopping journey on their phone, just as they do when they see our boxes on their doorstep,” an Amazon spokesperson said.
